This is the first tutorial i have ever written for deviantart and i seriously hope it does help people. Under NO circumstance was this tutorial designed to teach you how to draw images, only how to draw with a mouse as your only tool. This tutorial is an extremely huge file (700x3250) so give it time to load please.

So many people in the world dont have tablets, i've been drawing with a mouse for years so i want to share the tips i've learned with everyone else. I've used my own pictures as examples and even doodled some crap on there to help you. Please fav if you find helpfull in any way ^^; i want to help as many people as possible.

This tutorial will explain the following things:
Reconizing your mouse
How the hand should be positioned and the movement of the mouse
Using the mouse to sketch
Getting the best lineart from your mouse
How the mouse works when coloring/lineart/sketching

It shall help me, expecially the part where you dont want to be reaching to the back of the desk and the mousepad. Not using a mousepad DOES help...

I draw with a mouse to, and i use paint shop pro 8. When i was reading this i tried to look for the tools you used but couldn't find them. x_X What is the free hand line tool? I just use the paintbrush on 1px and the opacity on 100 for my line art. And not using my mouse pad really does help. O_O lol thanks!

Heh, I colour, and sometimes draw with my mouse.

I use Opencanvas for everything I do...My GAWD the layers never end X)

OMG! YAAAY!!! THANK YOU!!!! I SOOO NEEDED SOMETHING LIKE THIS SINCE I HAVE SUCH A DAMN HARD TIME DRAWING STUFF BY MOUSE!

Now I can use this to draw by mouse! :D

Thank you so much! This really helps, I have a tablet myself but it doesn't really work... so I use my mouse, but I never really could get it, but reading this totally helps me! Thanks once again~ I've been looking for something like this! This is an instant fav!

The tool isnt in psp8 only in psp7. It was removed for some apparent reason but it was originally the only way of creating smooth lineart. But usually it's setting the line tool on antialias and it usually has an option to turn freehand line (in psp7 you just pressed o to open the tool settings) i dont know about psp8 i never bought it.

Oooh awesome! Likes it very much *fave* imma gonna try to draw with the mouse now.... evil mouse ¬¬ me being used with tablet is making it hard to draw with a mouse O_o
